Australia has a mutual health agreement with the UK, which means that UK residents can enjoy certain health services free of charge during a visit to Australia. There are a number of services that are not publicly funded and that differ from country to country. Since none of the mutual agreements offer comprehensive coverage, travelers should purchase comprehensive travel insurance, including health insurance.
